March 31 postgame quotes: Dustin Brown

On Sunday’s road effort:
“I think we played good hockey all the way throughout this whole trip and we’ve been getting results. Tonight was a really heavy game considering our schedule and getting in here at two in the morning and playing an earlier game. Guys banded together today. We had scoring from all lines. I think collectively, as a group, we probably were a little tired, but we found a way to weather the storm, especially towards the end there.”

On how the team won the third period given the challenging circumstances:
“Just the group, collectively. It’s the same story for us. When we have everyone on board and everyone going, we find ways to win hockey games. I mean, we’ve got a guy who has, I don’t know, probably played less than 15 minutes of ice time all year finding a huge year for us with Rich. That’s the type of contributions you need on a night-in, night-out basis from everyone.”

On Brad Richardson maintaining a positive attitude and work ethic whether he’s in the lineup or not:
“That’s not an easy thing to do. Not only from a mental standpoint – every player wants to be in the lineup, and every player wants to play. When you get the opportunity, to be mentally sharp and physically ready to go is a tribute to his preparation as a professional. These last couple of months, like I said, I think he’s played in two games, and like I said, he doesn’t get a lot of ice time. That’s a great job by him being ready to go.”

On the potential to finish a strong road trip against Phoenix:
“We’ll start thinking about it tomorrow. The last 24 hours have been a long, hard 24 hours, and we’ll get some rest tonight and tomorrow and get ready to go again.”
