Richards postgame quotes (March 11)

Mike Richards’ postgame thoughts…

(on the shootout winner…)

RICHARDS: “That was nice to get. I just wanted to pick a shot and go down there and do it. Luckily it went in. It was a big weight off the shoulders.’’

(on the shootout…)
RICHARDS: “Both (goalies) made a bunch of big saves. Quickie held his ground there on a couple, and (Emery) made a couple big saves too. Like I said, it was a big two points for us. It was nice to get the win, and obviously we need them as much as possible right now.’’

(on the goalies throughout the game…)

RICHARDS: “Quickie made a bunch of big saves when we needed them most, and Razor made a bunch of big saves for them in the first period. It was a tight-checking game. We had to earn every inch, and luckily we came out with two points.’’

(on his confidence in Quick in the shootout…)

RICHARDS: “We’re confident in both of the goaltenders. Quickie’s shootout record speaks for itself. We have confidence going in there, because we’ve had some success with it over the past couple years. He’s obviously done well, so we have confidence. Sometimes it feels like all we need is one goal to win.’’
