Williams postgame quotes (March 6)

Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
WILLIAMS: “That was one of our more offensive games, and certainly fun to play. Everyone was into it, right from the start. There was good chatter, there was good talk. Guys were intense, and we got a big win.’’

(on the difference from last week’s game at Nashville…)
WILLIAMS: “We wanted to try to make Rinne work tonight. We felt, the last few games, we hadn’t gotten as much shots to the net as we should have, whether it be missing the net or getting blocked, whatever it was. We tried to put as many as we could at him. That first one, I just threw it at his feet. We were just trying to get him as much work as we could.’’

(on the big goal late in the first period…)
WILLIAMS: “I think there were a lot of pivotal goals tonight. There were a lot of momentum changes. I was really happy with the way we came out in the third period. We didn’t sit back, didn’t play for a tie. We went after it hard and got a big goal and an insurance goal.’’

(on the message during the second intermission…)
WILLIAMS: “The message was, `Go get it.’ As I said, everyone was into it, so no one was on their heels. Everyone felt a part of the game. They’re a fast team, one of the fastest teams we’ve played. They get up the ice and they make you work for the opportunities, and we did that.’’
