Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…
(on getting four goals after last night’s frustration…)
SUTTER: “We thought we played really well last night and we didn’t get nothing for it. Tonight, we got a break early and that probably was the difference in the game. That team over there has made a lot of changes in the last few days, and they’re playing without their captain. It’s hard, once you get down.’’
(on getting improved net presence…)
SUTTER: “We did it in the first period. It was sort of a sloppy game after that.’’
(on Jonathan Bernier…)
SUTTER: “I thought he was awesome. He was the best player on the ice, and that’s great for him. The last five or six minutes, the team played for the goalie, because he gave us a real good opportunity to win the game.’’
(on capitalizing on chances tonight…)
SUTTER: “We thought we played well enough to win last night. As long as our leadership group understood that, and relayed it to the rest of the group, that’s the only thing that is important.’’
(on two teams fighting for playoff spots…)
SUTTER: “They’re a team that has made a lot of changes, and they’re a young group and they’re playing without their captain. That’s difficult, once they get down.’’
