Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
KOPITAR: “The goalies were on their game tonight. We had some chances and we didn’t bear down on them. It came back to bite us.’’
(on how the Kings can improve the power play…)
KOPITAR: “I don’t know. I wish I knew right now. We’ve got to keep working on it and keep practicing on it. We’re going to break through. That’s our mindset right now, and we’ve got to keep on pushing for that.’’
(on strong puck possession…)
KOPITAR: “We’ve done that, for the most part, since Darryl got here, because he really encourages that. holding onto pucks and everything. We had a few good shifts. We had some scoring chances. We just couldn’t bury them. We had a bunch of 2-on-1s. I had a chance in overtime and I don’t know why I didn’t shoot it, but I should have put it on net, and something could happen on that. The chances are there. We just have to bear down on them.’’
(on Varlamov’s strong game…)
KOPITAR: “Yeah. Even the power-play save he made on Jack (Johnson) there. I want to say, 70 percent of the time, that’s a tap-in goal. Again, we’ve got to keep on working on it and get better at it.’’
