Williams postgame quotes (Dec. 28)

Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…

(on Jonathan Quick’s game…)

WILLIAMS: “He was excellent, especially the one he made on Toews, with his toe, with five or six minutes left in the game, to keep it 2-0. A two-goal cushion is huge, so getting that goal right at the start of the third was obviously big in that aspect. Quickie did the rest.’’

(on the fourth line’s effort…)

WILLIAMS: “(Darryl Sutter) said it after the second period. He said, `Every line is going, so let’s keep it that way.’ He rolled everybody, and everyone got into it. There weren’t many penalties in the third, so there was a good flow. Everyone was into the game, and we got results.’’

(on his line’s effort on Stoll’s goal…)

WILLIAMS: “I’d have been really, really, really upset if that didn’t go in, because I missed a couple really good chances. But I was happy that Stolly finished it off for me. It made me feel good because, as I said, that was a really big goal, getting that cushion for us at the start of the third.’’
