Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…
(on Jonathan Quick’s strong game…)
SUTTER: “Yeah, right through. I thought both goalies were pretty much, save for save, awesome.”
(on the effort of the fourth line…)
SUTTER: “The first period, there was a lot of special teams, so our fourth line did a really good job. As it went on, we were able to roll it. I thought, obviously, with Trent coming out of the stands, and Colin has been playing really well for us, and Cliffy, we talked to him before the game about trying to get him some more ice time. Hey, he drove the net on the first goal and did a good job.”
(on using the fourth line on the power play…)
SUTTER: “It was a four-minute power play, so you just can’t use two groups. It was good to reward guys, too. It’s not a right, that everybody gets on the (power-play units). It’s nice to put some hard-working guys out there.”
(on whether he has tweaked the penalty kill at all…)
SUTTER: “No. Actually, the Los Angeles Kings, for the last two years, it’s been the best part of their game, their penalty kill. I haven’t done anything, to be quite honest with you.”
(on beating the hot Blackhawks…)
SUTTER: “Things go on. They’re on a long homestand, after Christmas, and they’re probably not as sharp as they wanted to be. Quicker made those big saves early and, hey, it makes the difference in the game.”
