Postgame notes (Dec. 6)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— An inability to score a third goal hurt the Kings again Tuesday night in their 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center.

— The Kings have now scored two or fewer goals in six consecutive games, and in 19 of their 27 games this season. When the Kings score at least three goals, they have an 8-0-0 record. When they score two or fewer goals, they are 5-10-4.

— The Kings are the lowest-scoring team in the NHL. They average 2.26 goals per game, 30th in the league, just behind the New York Islanders (2.28). The Kings have also scored the fewest 5-on-5 goals in the league (36). On the other side, the Kings are fourth in the NHL in goals against per game (2.18).

— The Kings fell to 5-3-3 on the road, 7-5-4 in one-goal games, 3-8-1 when allowing the first goal, 2-4-1 when trailing after the first period and 0-9-1 when trailing after the second period.

— The Kings outshot the Ducks 39-27, including 23-8 in the third period. The 39 shots on goal tied a season high. The Kings also had 39 in a 3-2 overtime loss at Phoenix on Oct. 29.

— The Kings went 0-for-2 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

— Jonathan Quick stopped 24 of 27 shots. Quick had allowed two or fewer goals in three consecutive starts.

— Slava Voynov scored a goal, his fourth goal and seventh point in his 15th career NHL game.

— Justin Williams scored a goal, his fourth goal and 17th point of the season. Williams had gone 17 consecutive games without a goal.

— Dustin Penner had one assist, his third assist and fourth point of the season. Penner has one goal and one assist in his last two games.

— Jarret Stoll had one assist, his sixth assist and eighth point of the season.

— Anze Kopitar had one assist, his 16th assist and 26th point of the season (both team-highs). Kopitar had recorded zero goals and one assist in his previous five games.

— Dustin Penner recorded a team-high six shots on goal. Jarret Stoll was credited with a team-high five hits. Colin Fraser, Jack Johnson and Rob Scuderi each were credited with a team-high two blocked shots.

— Jack Johnson led the Kings in ice time, at 26 minutes, 4 seconds, followed by Drew Doughty, at 25:29. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time, at 22:37, followed by Dustin Brown, at 21:36.

— The Kings won 28 of 56 faceoffs (50 percent). Anze Kopitar won 12 of 22 draws (55 percent). Jarret Stoll won 9 of 20 draws (45 percent). Colin Fraser won 6 of 10 draws (60 percent).
