Scouting the Ducks

It’s the first of six meetings this season between the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. The Kings went 2-3-1 against the Ducks last season. On Monday, the Ducks claimed Niklas Hagman off waivers from Calgary, but Hagman has visa issues and won’t play tonight. The Kings and Ducks share Southern California, and they also share a problem: 5-on-5 goals. The Kings rank 27th in the NHL in that category while the Ducks are one spot behind. Jonas Hiller is expected to start in goal for the Ducks. It’s a tough time to be a former King in Anaheim, as Jason Blake, George Parros and Lubomir Visnovsky are all on the injured-reserve list.
