As Mike Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune pointed out, last night’s game featured a matchup of the oldest coach in the NHL (Terry Murray, at 61) and the youngest coach (Mike Yeo, at 38). At least for one night, score one for experience. The Kings are now 5-1-1 in their last seven home games against the Wild. Here’s how the Star-Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press covered last night’s game, followed by some additional postgame quotes from the Wild’s locker room…
Wild’s road trip turns even uglier in loss to Kings (Star-Tribune)

COACH MIKE YEO
(on the game…) “Right from the drop of the puck, we weren’t ready to play. You always get what you deserve, or at least way more than often (than not), you get what you deserve. We got what we deserved tonight.’’
(on the Wild’s last few games…) “As far as I’m concerned, we played three bad games in a row. I don’t want to say I don’t know, because I know. We think we’re there; we’re not even close. We think that we are good enough, (that) because we’ve won five games in a row that we’re there, but we’re not even close. We said this when we were winning games; we aren’t there. Along the way, we forgot what we had to put in to win hockey games.’’

MIKKO KOIVU
(on the game…) “A lot of things went wrong. It’s too early to analyze it. I guess a lot of things went wrong, so it’s not only the D zone. Obviously we are not spending time in the O zone.’’
(on whether the loss was disappointing…) “Not even close (to the most disappointing loss of the season). I’ve been playing hockey for 20 years so I’ve had worse games than that, and bigger ones too.’’
