`Boo-birds out’ for Smyth tonight?

If you’re going to the game tonight, how will you react to Ryan Smyth? Smyth accepted a trade to the Kings in 2009 and had two solid seasons but then, last summer, surprised everyone when he asked to be traded closer to his home in Alberta for family reasons. News of Smyth’s request leaked publicly before a trade had been completed, which put the Kings in a bit of a bad spot and led Smyth to tell the Edmonton Journal that “sure there will be some boo-birds out’’ at Staples Center tonight.

In the following Edmonton Sun story, Smyth also spoke at length about his return to Los Angeles, saying, “Obviously with the circumstances that went on, it was a personal thing and I wanted to come back. Hopefully nobody holds a grudge when it comes to making a personal decision for me and my family.’’
