Bernier postgame quotes (Oct. 8)

Jonathan Bernier’s postgame thoughts…

(on handling the Sabres’ pressure…)

BERNIER: “It was a tough game. They were pressing. They had their D always jumping in the play, with 3-on-2s all the time. If we didn’t have our forwards in good position, they were coming hard. They had a few bounces on their side, and the next thing you know, it was 3-0.’’

(on Buffalo scoring on scramble plays…)

BERNIER: “The first one, it went through the legs. I picked it up late. That’s the one I want to get back. The rest is lucky bounces. The third one, I got caught with that guy and I couldn’t really move. He was in my crease. It happened a few times tonight, I got pushed over. So either we’ve got to do a better job or the ref has to do a better job with that.’’
