With everyone safe and sound in Stockholm, here’s some postgame stuff, starting with Drew Doughty…
(on his first game…)
DOUGHTY: “I felt good. Obviously I didn’t feel 100 percent, or I didn’t feel the way I want to, but after the long trip and being out for so long, I thought I played well, and it was great to finally get a game under me. I think it’s going to help for the next game.’’
(on adjusting to the bigger ice surface…)
DOUGHTY: “That was the tough part, I think. I think all of the guys kind of struggled with that. You thought you were in a good position, and then the next thing you know, that guy has 15 feet. So it’s a tough adjustment, but I thought we played all right. These games are tough to play in, and it’s huge to come out with a win.’’
(on feeling prepared for the start of the season…)
DOUGHTY: “For sure. I think I’ll be at my best for that opener there. Once I put my mind to it, I go out there and play my best every night. That’s my main focus, to get in a couple practices (in Stockholm) and do my best on opening night.’’
