Jarret Stoll’s postgame thoughts…
(on his shootout goal…)
STOLL: “That was kind of my first option. I knew he challenges. He comes out pretty hard and pretty fast. I played with him in Edmonton for one season, and he was 30-for-33. I’ve seen so many people deke him and deke him, and he’s so athletic and moves post-to-post really well. I was not deke-ing, that’s for sure. I just wanted to get a good shot away, and let him back up and move into his net and open up some net. And I found a corner.”
(on the win…)
STOLL: “I don’t care how we did it. It wasn’t pretty. We had some breakdowns on their goals and stuff, but we got the two points. That’s the bottom line. We’ve got to move on. We’ve got a game tomorrow we’ve got to focus on and get ready for, and that’s it. That’s all there is to it. If we keep getting points, keep taking care of our business, we’ll be fine.”
(on whether his hit on Umberger was knee-on-knee…)
STOLL: “I don’t think it was. It could have been knee-on-knee, if I would have kept going at him. I tried to get out of the way, or I would have got hurt or he would have got hurt, one of the two. I tried to not do that to him. If they think it’s knee-on-knee, that’s fine, but I didn’t.”
