Afternoon reading: Kopitar an All-Star

Anze Kopitar will learn his short-term fate this afternoon. Will he be a member of Team Lidstrom or Team Staal? The NHL will hold its All-Star “draft” tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. Pacific time on Versus — [correction: initially-posted information was for a mock draft…] — and that will kick off Kopitar’s second All-Star experience. Kopitar, who leads the Kings with 49 points (16 goals, 33 assists) this season, is an All-Star for the second time in his five-year career — there was no All-Star Game last year, because of the Olympics — having also made the team in 2008. My LAKings.com feature for this week takes a look at Kopitar and his rise to being considered one of the top players in the NHL. Thanks for reading…
