Postgame notes (Jan. 24)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings swept the two-game season series with Boston as they beat the Bruins 2-0 on Monday night at Staples Center.

— The Kings have now won five consecutive games over the Bruins.

— The Kings have now allowed a total of 11 goals in their last six games.

— The Kings went 1-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. The Kings had been 0-for-22 on the power play in their previous seven games.

— Shots were even, 34-34, in the game. The Kings have recorded at least 33 shots on goal in three consecutive games. The Kings had allowed fewer than 30 shots on goal in seven consecutive games.

— The Kings are now 16-9-1 at home, 20-8-0 when scoring the first goal, 12-3-0 when leading after the first period, 15-0-0 when leading after the second period and 21-6-0 when allowing two or fewer goals.

— Jonathan Quick made 34 saves for his fifth shutout of the season and the 13th of his career. Quick is now fourth all-time among Kings goalies in shutouts. Rogie Vachon is first, with 32 shutouts, followed by Jamie Storr (16) and Felix Potvin (14).

— Ryan Smyth scored a first-period power-play goal that held up as the game-winning goal. It was the 51st game-winning goal of Smyth’s career. Smyth has seven goals and five assists in his last 14 games.

— Andrei Loktionov had one goal. It was Loktionov’s second goal of the season and his first in three games since being recalled from the AHL.

— Anze Kopitar had one assist. He has two goals and 13 assists in his last 16 games.

— Drew Doughty had one assist, on the power play. He has three goals and 16 assists in his last 22 games. It was Doughty’s first power-play point since Dec. 30.

— Jarret Stoll had one assist, on the power play. He has six goals and two assists in his last 10 games.

— Dustin Brown had one assist, after going without a point in four consecutive games.

— Jarret Stoll was credited with a game-high six shots on goal. Dustin Brown was credited with five hits and Willie Mitchell was credited with five blocked shots.

— Drew Doughty played a team-high 22 minutes, 48 seconds. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time at 21:08.

— The Kings won 34 of 65 faceoffs (52 percent). Michal Handzus won 11 of 17 draws (65 percent).
