Following up on last night’s World Juniors note, my LAKings.com feature for this week takes a look at the current Kings who once participated in the World Juniors. Did you know that Drew Doughty and Wayne Simmonds, now teammates and roommates in Los Angeles, were heated rivals until they were roommates at the World Juniors? The feature looks at what the tournament means to young players, as current Kings share their memories. Also, as part of the Kings’ “My Story” series, Brayden Schenn shares his thoughts on his journey from childhood to the NHL. Finally, a piece from the Toronto Star talks about Schenn’s short-term future, and a possible Western Hockey League trade. Schenn (pictured) was named MVP of the World Juniors last night and was also named the tournament’s best forward, and it was reported last night that Schenn played the final two games of the tournament with a separated shoulder.
