After eight games, it’s back to left wing for Dustin Brown. A natural right winger, Brown spent 10 games on the left side in late November and December when the Kings were looking for help on the left side. When the Kings acquired left winger Marco Sturm, Brown went back to right wing, and Terry Murray expressed his desire for Brown to stay there. Now, Brown is back on the left. It’s never been a big deal for Brown and, in fact, statistically he did just fine on left wing, with two goals and nine assists in those 10 games. But Brown has done more goal-scoring this season on the right side, which is why Murray acknowledged some reluctance in shifting Brown back to the left, with center Anze Kopitar and right winger Wayne Simmonds. Brown had five goals in his last eight games on the right side, but has not recorded a point in his last four games…
MURRAY: “I struggled with this one, because I looked at the month of December that he had. It was really good playing on the right side. That line, Kopi and he, really had some good things going. So I struggled with moving him to the left side again. All I can do is say that I’m hoping that everything continues on course. There’s no issue with him moving over there, on Kopi’s (left) side, so I’m just hoping, again, that they move forward.”
