COACH TOM RENNEY
(on the game…) “We played well. They’re a big heavy team. They’ve been very good at home, obviously. We’re a bit of an unknown commodity, but maybe we’re becoming more familiar with what we are and maybe the opposing teams are as well. I thought certainly we played well enough to win.”
(on his team’s defense…) “We’re certainly trying. There isn’t a part of our game that we’re not trying to get better at obviously, and certainly if you want to compete and win in this league you’ve got to be good defensively and we know that. Penalty killing aside, we certainly improved inside our own blue line.”
DEVAN DUBNYK
(on the game…) “That was a good 60-minute game, or 65-minute game, by us. I think if you look at the game there aren’t really any complaints about us by the way we played, or effort. We worked hard on the power play, penalty kill, and five-on-five. It hurts to lose. We need to win these games and get that extra point when we go into overtime but I think if we play like that more often, then we’re probably going to get that extra two.
“We lost by one goal last game and a shootout tonight. We played hard both games. It’s pretty obvious where we are. If we continue to work hard and get better, we’ve been getting better all year, so if we continue to do that we can beat these teams.”
