The Kings took a 2-0 lead at the 8:49 mark. Alexei Ponikarovsky did some strong work down low, then had the puck in the high-slot area. His pass attempt got deflected by Nashville’s J-P Dumont, onto the stick of Trevor Lewis, who alertly and quickly slipped a shot past Anders Lindback. Kevin Westgarth also got an assist.
