Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on the losing streak…)
KOPITAR: “It’s definitely not a good feeling, to say the least. We’ve got to figure out how to turn this thing around real quick, before this ends up in a long losing streak. There’s a big two points up for grabs tomorrow, and we have to make sure we get them.”
(on the defense struggling without Willie Mitchell…)
KOPITAR: “I don’t know what it is. I wish I knew. It’s one of those things where we’re just going to have to battle through it. We can’t use Willie Mitchell and Poni as an excuse. it’s part of the game. Injuries are going to come and we have to battle through it and we have to find a way. That’s just the bottom line.”
(on taking bad penalties…)
KOPITAR: “Yeah. I don’t know how many penalties we took. We took three in the third. We took a couple penalties when the play was on the other end of the rink. You don’t have to be an expert to recognize that that wasn’t the smartest thing to do. We just have to be more disciplined in that department. Our PK has been pretty good. Yeah, we gave up two tonight, but other than that, I think we can pretty much be proud of our PK. But we don’t want to play shorthanded. That’s the thing.”
