One excellent period

Jonathan Bernier’s second game this season, much like his first, was a bit uneven. Bernier looked a bit unstable at times during the first two periods Wednesday against Carolina, but was fantastic in the third period, when he made 15 saves and helped kill two Carolina power plays. The Kings will go back to Jonathan Quick in goal tonight, but Bernier is likely to get a start on this road trip, with the Kings facing back-to-back games against Chicago and Dallas next week.

MURRAY: “I thought his game was tremendous in the third period. There were some penalty kills and there was a lot going on at a critical time of the game, and I thought he played solid. He was composed, he was square and he did a great job in the third period. Overall, I liked his game.”
