A spirited period, with a handful of quality chances for each team, ended without a goal. Shots were 11-11 in the period, and the Kings will be on the power play for the first 1:07 of the second period. The Kings won 14 of 19 faceoffs in the period, a stark contrast to their troubles in the circle during preseason play.
