More on Mitchell

A teleconference has tentatively been scheduled for late this afternoon for Willie Mitchell and the Kings, so that will be the opportunity for me to get quotes and details, etc. Stay tuned for that. For now, there should be a Ron Hextall interview with Heidi Androl up on LAKings.com soon.

As for the signing, Mitchell certainly represents a solid upgrade over Sean O’Donnell and will also ease the pain of Matt Greene’s early-season absence. He’s a responsible, hard-nosed defenseman. The big question, of course, will be whether there are any issues due to Mitchell’s concussion. He’s been through all the tests, on and off the ice, so it’s safe to say that both sides are confident. Do you like the signing?
