Playoff time?

The website sportsclubstats.com uses a mathematical formula to predict which teams will make the NHL playoffs and where they will finish. According to the site, the Kings now have a 99.3-percent chance of making the playoffs and are the favorites, at 41 percent, to finish fifth in the Western Conference (Nashville is at 23 percent). Of course, just a couple weeks ago, the Kings were favored to finish fourth. That was before the Phoenix Coyotes started looking like the 80s Oilers, something a computer can’t predict… The site projects that if the Kings get two points tonight, their playoff chances will rise to 99.7 percent.
