Technical advances/difficulties

The good news is that this blog has now been switched over to a stronger server. You shouldn’t notice any difference — other than, hopefully, that we won’t have any outages like we had a few weeks ago — but it’s definitely a good move for me.

On the negative side, due to Internet issues in Vancouver, we were unable to connect with Dustin Brown for a video chat last night. As you can probably imagine, time is tight there, especially with the medal round starting today. Today’s quarterfinals include the United States vs. Switzerland (noon Pacific time), Russia vs. Canada (4:30 p.m.), Finland vs. Czech Republic (7 p.m.) and Sweden vs. Slovakia (9 p.m.). Of course, thanks to NBC, who knows when you’ll see these, depending on which part of the continent you’re on. LAKings.com/olympics has all the latest on the Kings’ Olympians.

For those who aren’t excited by the Olympics, the Kings are scheduled to return to practice at 2 p.m. today, so I’ll have updates. Finally (for now), click below for Daryl Evans’ interview of Dean Lombardi, with Lombardi’s thoughts on the Olympic tournament.
