March of the West, Day 1

As you know, yesterday was the first of six days in which the Kings are idle while other Western Conference teams  have a chance to pick up points. Here, we’ll track how things are going for the Kings during the break.

Yesterday, St. Louis lost to Tampa Bay, Chicago beat Boston and Vancouver beat Washington. The only immediate implication there for the Kings is that Chicago passed them for the second-most points in the conference overall. The Kings are still fourth in the West.

So after one day, we’ll put the Kings’ “record” at 1-2-0, in terms of how their conference foes are doing. Today, it’s Detroit at Dallas, Nashville at Calgary, Phoenix at Anaheim, Minnesota at Ottawa, Columbus at Colorado and Washington at Edmonton. Lots of implications all around…
