Matt Greene’s postgame thoughts…
(on going 7-2-1 in this 10-game stretch…)
GREENE: “I think right now we’re playing well enough to win every game. It’s one of those situations where it doesn’t matter who is playing for us. We’re getting production from everyone. Elkins comes out and gets his first goal and gets us right back in the game. Everybody is picking it up. Guys are getting more ice time and doing well. Raitis is getting more time and he’s playing well for us. Brad Richardson, you can’t say enough about what he has done with this opportunity. But I don’t think anybody is happy with this loss in here. Guys in this room, we want to win every game. Tonight stings because we felt we were right there and we had our chances. There were just a couple mistakes where, maybe if we were on the other end, we win 1-0.”
(on nearly coming back in the third period…)
GREENE: “I think that’s the difference with this team now. We’re down one going into the third. They get a goal to go up 2-0 and I don’t think our bench really wavers too much. We know we can score. We know we can get offense. Our forwards, and a few of our D, are talented enough to score a couple goals in a period, so there’s no real letdown on the bench when they scored the second goal. Elkins’ goal lifted us up a little bit, but I think we had that confidence the whole period.”
