O'Donnell postgame quotes

Sean O’Donnell’s postgame thoughts…

(on his goal…)
O’DONNELL: “It’s the law of averages. If you get enough shots on net… Our guys did a great job. I don’t even think their goalie saw it at all. He just went down and tried to cover it, and it snuck in the corner. Willie and Fro and Kopi, I don’t know exactly who it was, but when I shot it, I could see that lane and I could tell he didn’t see it at all. I just crossed my fingers that it didn’t hit something. It was nice to get the two points tonight.”

(on getting the win with a shorthanded roster…)
O’DONNELL: “At the start of the year, we were winning games and Kopi was carrying us, Smytty was carrying us. We were getting great efforts from a couple of guys. Now, it seems like we’re learning how to win games. Tonight was a big game for us. We played last night in Vancouver and we had a tough loss. We came in and we knew that they were playing well and we did just enough to win. You might say we got fortunate, or you might say that we’re learning how to win those games now. I think it’s a real shot in the arm. We’ve been doing a good job in these kind of games this year.”

(on Jonathan Quick’s play…)
O’DONNELL: “Quickie has been unbelievable, I would say, in the last 15 games or so, maybe 20 games. I’m sure, in the first 15 games, there’s a couple plays he’d like to have back, but he’s been our MVP, he’s been our guy the last 15 to 20 games. The whole team has so much confidence when you know your goalie is going to make that first save. When we had a couple breakdowns, and we did, he was there and it just elevates the whole team. When you know, going into a game, that your goaltender is going to play a certain way, you’re going to give yourself a chance every night.”
