Smyth's "goalie"

Ryan Smyth had his pre-practice skate and is now shooting pucks…but not at a goalie. Assistant coach Mark Hardy put a “Shooter Tutor” over one of the nets — essentially a plastic sheet with holes in the four corners, a kids learning tool — so Smyth would have something to shoot at. Teammates were quite amused when they came on the ice for warmups. So Smyth is now shooting, but he left the ice when practice started.

Brandon Segal is not on the ice. Peter Harrold is skating on the fourth line. No other changes. More updates after practice…
