Long Decembers

December has not been the kindest month to the Kings of late. They haven’t had a winning December since 2005-06, when they went 9-5-1. Since then, the last month of the year has brought records of 5-8-1 (2006-07), 4-11-1 (2007-08) and 5-7-3 (2008-09). Then again, with the exception of last season, the Kings already entered December with a losing record, so it’s not as though they had dream seasons ruined…

Last season, the Kings were ninth in the West, with a 10-9-3 record. By Jan. 1, they were 14th in the West.
