KOPITAR: “I think it showed that too. Going into the third period again, down one, we managed to score four goals. We were doing some good stuff — I should say, some really good stuff — in the second period. We outshot them by quite a lot. I’m not sure the exact number. That just shows the character, with sticking with it and not giving up, and that’s what the team is made of.”
(on putting sustained pressure on a strong team…)
KOPITAR: “Their goalie was good throughout the first two periods, but we just kept pouring it on and getting shots on net, and sooner or later we knew, or we were hoping, that he was going to fold. We managed to score four goals, which is big for us, and a big two points for us.”
