Parse in, Lewis out

Up front, the Kings will play tonight as they practiced yesterday. Scott Parse, called up yesterday from Manchester, will join Jarret Stoll and Teddy Purcell, while Trevor Lewis will sit out. Here’s what Terry Murray said about putting Parse in the lineup. I’ll have something later on his decision to keep Lewis out…

MURRAY: “I’m going to play Parse here tonight, get him into the lineup with Stoll and Purcell. He’s the leading scorer down there (in Manchester) and he’s here, so I’ll give him a shot and see how it goes. I’m hoping that he’s out to prove that we might a wrong decision. Sometimes that’s a lot of motivation for a player. He didn’t get an exhibition game and he got sent down. He gets things on a roll down there, with a lot of confidence, and the attitude sometimes is, `I’ll show that organization that I’m a good hockey player.’ I hope he brings that attitude tonight.”

Asked about what he saw from Parse in training camp, Murray said, “I didn’t play him in an exhibition game for a reason. I wasn’t seeing enough of what I need from a player like that. He’s not a heavy body. He’s not a bulky guy that’s going to go out and run people over and establish that kind of physical game, but he does produce on the offensive part of the game, with points and goals. He does have to be a creative player and make things happen, and I was not seeing that. He clearly is doing that down there in the offensive part of the game, with Manchester, so that’s what he will need to bring here tonight.”
