Saturday win for Manchester

Jonathan Bernier stopped all 29 shots he faced Saturday night as Manchester beat Portland 4-0 in the Monarchs’ home opener. Bernier improved to 4-1 and the Monarchs improved to 4-2. Bud Holloway scored two goals, Viatcheslav Voynov and Scott Parse both had one goal, Andrei Loktionov had two assists and Parse, Meckler, Gauthier, Holloway and Mullen each had one assist.

For the season, Bernier has a 1.60 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage.
