Good morning from NYC

It occurred to me that over the past couple weeks, this blog has picked up new readers, folks who aren’t familiar with me or my previous work. For those who were around before “the move,” please put down your No. 2 pencils and rest your heads on your desks for a few minutes.

For my new friends…for the previous 10 years, I worked for the Los Angeles Daily News newspaper, and for parts of the past nine years, I covered the Kings. Last month, the Kings presented me with an opportunity that would allow me to cover the Kings on a full-time basis — something no print media outlet does — while maintaining my independence as a reporter. The blog items and stories you read are not filtered and not subject to any approval or review by team personnel. The arrangement has worked very well so far on my end, and I’m doing my best to bring you the best possible coverage of the Kings.

I’m seeing a lot of new names in the comments section, and that’s awesome. Don’t be shy, jump on in. The rules for commenting are very simple and straightforward: please don’t curse, please be respectful of the other commenters and please don’t run the same points into the ground, over and over. Respectful disagreement is allowed and encouraged. The goal is to have a fun, informative community here, and all are encouraged to participate. Suggestions for improvement on my end are always welcomed as well.
