January 12 postgame quotes: Darryl Sutter

On the improvements in the Kings’ game tonight:
The first period we’ve had trouble scoring goals since Christmas, especially five-on-five. Getting the lead is the biggest difference. I don’t know if it’s an ‘improvement,’ but that for sure is what stood out.

On getting the puck through the neutral zone with speed:

I think the first period we did, yeah. You know what? We scored the first goal, and our power play and our penalty killing was the difference in the game. Five-on-five, I’m not really sure how good we were. Good for Peter to have to make some big saves in the third. It’s good for him to feel good about himself. That’s something, too.
