McKenzie: Kings to face cap recapture penalties

News today is quite fluid as implications of today’s developments are clarified, but it does appear there is an update on the Kings’ cap situation in light of the decision to terminate Mike Richards’ contract.

With that in mind, Los Angeles now has $62.05-million allotted to 17 players for the 2015-16 season. Next year’s salary cap has been set at $71.4M; teams may have up to 23 players on their active roster.
