Versatile sparkplug Brad Richardson signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks, the club announced Friday.

Richardson spent five seasons in Los Angeles following a trade at the 2008 NHL Draft in which Colorado received the final pick of the second round. In 255 games in a Kings uniform, he recorded 65 points (24-41=65) and 135 penalty minutes.
A natural center, Richardson has been an option on the left side for the Kings and was not considered likely to be retained due to the team’s salary cap pinch.
