Jonathan Quick left the ice first at this morning’s skate at the United Center, indicating he has been tabbed as tonight’s starter against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Dustin Penner, Brad Richardson, Davis Drewiske and Jonathan Bernier remained on the ice for extra work, indicating that Tyler Toffoli has been reinserted into the lineup. There were several different line combinations at the morning skate – Anze Kopitar centered a line with Dustin Brown and Jeff Carter, while Mike Richards, Justin Williams and Toffoli skated together. I’ll cover potential changes to the Kings’ line pairings in today’s game preview.
Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville said Marian Hossa will not play tonight as he recovers from an upper-body injury. Andrew Shaw, who did not participate in the morning skate due to illness, will play. Corey Crawford is expected to start in net for the Blackhawks.
