Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…
(on scoring four power-play goals and not getting two points…)
SUTTER: “I don’t think that was the reason we only got one point. The reason we only got one point was because the other team has probably (one of) the top two or three power plays in the league, and we spent a lot of time in the penalty box. If you add up all the minutes — and they didn’t score on three of them — you’re probably killing 15, 16 minutes. It’s almost impossible to beat a team like that.’’
(on whether Clifford deserved a major penalty…)
SUTTER: “No. Did you look at it. He just (pushed him). Is that a penalty? It was a push.’’
(on being relieved to clinch a playoff spot…)
SUTTER: “I don’t look at it as being relieved we made the playoffs. That’s why you play the game, right? I look at it as, that’s what you’re supposed to do.’’
(on the Doughty-Thornton fight…)
SUTTER: “It was retaliation-retaliation, and away they go. Why not?’’
