Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on getting the extra point, after dominating the game…)
QUICK: “It is definitely good to get the two points. We can’t too happy about it, because they still got a point out of it. That’s a game where we were outplaying them, and we’ve got to make sure they don’t get any points and we get two. They got one there on the power play at the end that I think I could have stopped. That was a little disappointing, but to get two points, it’s always good.’’
(on stopping most of the Ducks’ talented forwards in the shootout…)
QUICK: “They’ve got some high-end, talented forwards. Those guys are good. Like I said, they do get that goal, which is going to happen, but otherwise I think the guys played well and we did what we had to do to get that second point. Those are games where we’ve got to make sure we get two points and — especially a division rival like them — we’ve got to make sure they don’t get any points out of it. I think the way we played, the way we outplayed them, was great. We did everything right all game. I wish I had that one (goal) back, so they wouldn’t have got that point.’’
let’s hope he continues what he started last season when it comes to SO wins

dont appologize Quicker…you were amazing to say the least…

1-0 win would have been better but I think this is not a horrible outcome. This game should have been a blow out and the Kings might have come out complacent tomorrow night. Now it’s a battle. I like our chances better now.

For a guy who faced so few shots, Quick was outstanding. Glad to see him getting back to his shootout rhythm as well.
But, bottom line in tonight’s game: The Ducks got a point that they never deserved. Let’s silence Honda Center tomorrow!

@Eggplant, Quick was good…no doubt. Dissapointed The Kings let them get a point, but thats the way it goes until they change the rule and stop giving teams a point for losing…That rule sucks!

@g smith86, Yeah! I hate it too! (But please don’t take away our 3 points.) I like those ones.

Off topic @RICH..(or anyone)..It always seems that the intro/exit from commercials where the camera is walking around through staples, that MOST of the people don’t see the camera. Is it hidden or pretty low key? Is it just some person with a big camera easy to see???

@Lake Forest, it just a camera guy walking around. Most people notice it, they just show the people that dont. I see them around the main enterence a lot. Same with the ice crew picking people for the between period games.

Well Quikie, you kept us in there on that shootout and you are key in this win.

@g smith86, I would guess Bernier. I think the kings play Det on Saturday and it’s early. You want quick for that one so it’s easy. Go with Bernier

@Eggplant, Given Quick’s lighter workload tonight, I would feel comfortable seeing him in net tomorrow, but then again, what does my comfort level have to do with it? Nothing.

Hiller got them a point, Quicker got us two.

@David, Anahiem is playing very poorly right now…They have some key injuries and their top six are not finding the back of the net. The Kings have to take advantage of those facts tomorrow and jump all over the Ducks just like they did tonight. Hiller took a few pucks in the mask and should be feeling not so well so I expect the Kings to score a lot more as well tomorrow

Might as well give Quick a multimillion multiyear extension NOW!!! If it wasn’t for him, we’d be scrapping the bottom of the conference standings.
The goal the team scored tonight came on a 5 on 3 PP.
ZERO 5 on 5 goal
ZERO 5 on 4 goal

@Gustavo, Over 35 shots. Let’s just agree that Hiller was a beast tonight.

@ChiTownKingsFan,
Hiller was awesome. This is the type of game Id love to see the Kings play every night. They finally had the shot mentality that I have been wanting to see from this club. Shoot the puck. We had over 70 shots (including missed and blocked). I think we as fans like to complain about something. Last year, was the PP. This year 5 on 5. I am happy to see us win a game. It dont matter how we win it. Just as long as we get the win.

@ChiTownKingsFan, Hiller was hardly a beast. What out of any of those 35 shots were actual highway robbery stops? Mostly pretty tame, and he should’ve stopped the ones he did. I’ve seen many a goalie stand on their head, but this was hardly one of those performances. Don’t get me wrong, he played well, but I wasn’t too impressed by the Kings attack tonight. just don’t think that many of their shots were really that dangerous. Ah well, a win is a win.

@ChiTownKingsFan,
Yes, Hiller was a beast last night. But our shot count was deceiving. The first period we dominated and had many good shots and opportunities.
During the second and third periods I counted no less than 8 shots on goal that were made from behind their blue line to facilitate a line change. Hardly a shot that should have count. it only made Hiller look better on the stats.
ChitownKings Fan,
This year the PP is not as bad as last year, but still inconsistent.
I’ll be at the Ponda Center tonight. Thank you, Jeff/Julie) !!
I hope my presence inspires the team to do better, lol

I love Quick’s attitude! He wins, yet he’s mad that the Ducks still got a point. A lot of positives about this game, but I think the Kings can do better. Better on putting rebounds in the back of the net. Credit Hiller for keeping the Ducks in the game. If he didn’t play well, the score could’ve been more like 4-1. He robbed a point for his team.
