Players and staff are now safe and sound in Annapolis, Md., and perhaps still asleep. Plane arrived in Baltimore shortly before 5 a.m. Eastern time, and after clearing customs and riding the bus to Annapolis, it wasn’t long before the sun was rising. The players get today off, and then they will be back on the ice tomorrow afternoon, in preparation for Thursday’s game at New Jersey.
For the team, it was a split of two regular-season games, and that’s where there focus will be. For me, it was an outstanding trip, my first time overseas and it didn’t disappoint. I intend to write about the experience more extensively for my LAKings.com feature this week, but hello and thanks to those kind readers who I met at the arenas and who have expressed their support on the blog. It’s mind-blowing to think that people in Sweden, Germany, Slovenia and elsewhere use this blog as a source of information about the Kings.
Thanks also, for all your kind words about the photos. I’m far from a photographer I tried to test my best to bring a piece of the action to those who weren’t able to make the trip. To that end, here’s the final set, taken on a cold, windy Friday in Berlin.
