As posted earlier, the Kings are hopeful that Matt Greene will be cleared today to play, and that Greene will be able to return to the lineup for Sunday’s game against Anaheim. “He’s going to do his baseline testing here today, this afternoon, so he will be ready to go, post-holidays,” Terry Murray said of Greene.
As for Willie Mitchell, he’s still off the ice but is doing a lot of stationary-bike riding, and Murray said Mitchell is progressing as hoped.
MURRAY: “He’s doing a lot on the off-ice here with Tim [Adams, strength and conditioning coach]. Not only on the bike. Just a lot of off-ice work with his upper body. I haven’t talked to Willie since we’ve been back, to ask him how he’s making out. I’ve talked to the trainers about it. The timeline is still the same, but he has been pushing it pretty good here in the last couple days. … We did talk about (a timeline of) a couple weeks, and then we’ll get an update from that point.”
