Avalanche loses to Kings, falls to 4-24-2 over last 30 games
“With just 13 wins and 28 points through 48 games, the Avalanche is on pace to finish with one of the NHL’s worst 82-game records over the last six years. The 2013-14 Buffalo Sabres had 21 wins and 52 points and their 2014-15 team finished with 23 and 54, respectively. The 2010-11 Edmonton Oilers ended with 25 wins and 62 points.”

Avalanche go quietly into the good night with embarrassing loss to Kings
“The 2-0 lead became a 3-0 lead when Carter tapped home his second of the first period and Colorado, who struggles to score even two goals per game, was suddenly facing a three-goal deficit after just one period.”

Avs’ path to making history continues, fall 5-0 to Kings
“Is keeping Spencer Martin in Colorado the best idea? While nobody could pin the loss on Martin, he’s not exactly experiencing success in the current situation. The Avs seem overly cautious and conservative in their moving developing forwards and defensemen up for NHL minutes and it’s tough to see them just leave a very young goalie hung out to dry for the next two months.”
“The Avs front office has a lot on it’s to-do list, a lot of large things that need to be done but I hope that they aren’t losing sight of the small things that make organizations better. Coaches constantly talk about players that do the little things right, management needs to as well. If they constantly flail on details then the big picture won’t be pretty either.”
