POSTGAME NOTES
–With the win the Pacific Division-leading Reign improved to 22-9-6-0 overall and 4-0-1-0 against Bakersfield, which dropped to 15-16-4-1. Ontario is now 12-5-1-0 at home this season and currently on a three-game winning streak.
–Goalie Jack Campbell made his 22nd straight start, tying a mark set by Peter Budaj a season ago. He made 24 saves to improve to 19-6-3. The 19 wins for the All-Star continue to lead the league.
–Jonny Brodzinski’s game-winner added to his team-high 14 goals. He’s second in points with 28 behind T.J. Hensick and is now on a three-game points streak with all goal, four, in that span.
–With an assist on Andrew Crescenzi’s first period goal, Adrian Kempe has three assists in the last three games.
–The Reign outshot Bakersfield, 33-26, and were led by Cameron Schilling, Amadio and Crescenzi, who each had four shots on goal.
–Teddy Purcell (a goal and an assist tonight) has answered six straight pointless games with two goals and two assists in his last three. His second period goal was his sixth of the season in his 20th game with Ontario.
–Mike Amadio, who set up Purcell’s goal, is now on a three-game point streak with a goal and three assists in that span.
–Justin Auger’s assist on Crescenzi’s first period goal broke a five-game pointless streak for the winger.
–Kurtis MacDermid and Joel Rechlicz were handed game misconducts 1:01 into the third period and fought twice in the game. MacDermid had 20 PIMs and Rechlicz 22.
–The Reign power play went 1-for-5 and is still second in the league at 26.6 percent. The penalty kill went 3-for-3 to improve to 78.1 percent.
