April 2 morning skate notes

Good (late) morning from El Segundo. The alignment at this morning’s skate indicated no changes from the lines and pairings shown yesterday. Today’s lines:

Gaborik – Kopitar – Williams
King – Carter – Toffoli
Brown – Stoll – Lewis
Clifford – Shore – Nolan
Pearson – Richards – Andreoff

Muzzin – Doughty
Regehr – Martinez
McNabb – Greene
McBain

-Andrej Sekera did not skate, so Brayden McNabb will re-enter the lineup. Jarret Stoll also appears ready to enter the lineup for Mike Richards. “He’s going to play as a third line checking centerman,” Darryl Sutter said of Stoll. Expect Tanner Pearson (IR / broken lower fibula), Andy Andreoff, Jamie McBain and Richards to be out tonight. Jonathan Quick left the ice first and is expected to start against Edmonton (7:30 p.m. / FOX Sports West).

-Congratulations, Tanner Pearson, on signing your first professional extension. “I want to be here as long as possible,” he said. “I love L.A., I love the team, the fans, everything about it.” I’ll post his reaction this afternoon in addition to stories on Brayden McNabb and some Drew Doughty sentiments regarding the club’s playoff fight.

-With back-up goaltender Richard Bachman away from the Oilers due to personal reasons, it’s expected that former King Ben Scrivens will start at Staples Center tonight, 24 hours after a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the Ducks. For more coverage of the Oilers in the lead-up to the game, Marc Ciampa’s preview page at EdmontonOilers.com is a good place to start.
