Good morning, Minnesota, and good morning, Insiders.
So you might have heard: we’re staying at the same hotel as the Calgary Flames.
#Kings win. #Kings fly to St.Paul. Stay at same hotel as #Flames. CGY tomorrow. LA Sat. Wild times for sure!

If there’s any interaction, it’ll be orderly and cordial. I’m actually hoping to see Jordan Sigalet, our former goaltending coach in Everett who has done a great job with Flames goalies this season, though as today is a game day for them, any interaction will be in the form of a head nod or handshake or a quick elevator ride.
This happens once in a while each season; when disembarking in Toronto earlier this year, the Detroit Red Wings beat us to the ground by a few minutes, keeping us on the plane for a short period of time to avoid cross-contamination at the charter terminal before heading through customs. Once on the ground, we didn’t stay at the same hotel, though. In the WHL, where interconference games are often contested between two far-flung teams – there’s a chance that teams from Portland, Oregon and Brandon, Manitoba could play this year, and they’re nearly 1,400 miles apart – a charter plane replaces buses in the championship series, and it carries both teams. One team sits at the front of the plane, the other at the back. It’s all professional; there are no shenanigans.
It’s a recovery day today, so no practice, no quotes, and no stories beyond the typical recovery day content. I may actually throw up a photo gallery from last night’s game because the light in Nassau is so perfect, and there were two excellent photographers working Kings-Islanders. So, after WUWTK and TVF, there’s a 75% chance I’ll add a photo post in the afternoon.
