February 12 morning skate notes

Good morning from Toyota Sports Center, where the most of the team has left the ice and is now taking part in meetings in preparation for tonight’s game against the Calgary Flames.

Notes!

-Jonathan Quick left the ice first and is expected to start in net against Calgary. Andy Andreoff and Derek Forbort remained on the ice for extra work with Martin Jones, so they’re unlikely to be in tonight’s lineup.

-Because of the odd number of defensemen, we saw a lot of different looks. The pairings above were used during the first rotation and during subsequent drills later in the morning skate.

-Barry Melrose will be honored before the game as part of a Legends Night. Warm-ups are still scheduled for 6:59 p.m. The puck will be dropped at 7:47. I’ll also be reporting at-slash-attending today’s Legends Luncheon at Fleming’s, so today’s Darryl quotes (and subsequent reports) will be pushed back until after lunch. A reminder: the gold jerseys debut tonight.

-More to come throughout the day, including a story on Trevor Lewis’ ability to play on all four lines and in all three forward positions.

-As for the visitors, Sean Monahan will be back in the lineup after he took an option at yesterday’s practice. Also, the Flames will be playing in front of their dads:
