Via Darryl Sutter after today’s morning practice:
“Tanner will have his surgery today, and we’ll be able to tell you when and if he’ll play again this year.”
Expect any sort of timetable of a potential return to be revealed in the coming days.
UPDATE: Or right now. Via Lisa Dillman:
Kings Rob Blake said, via text, that the Tanner Pearson surgery is going on now. Also said, "3 months rehab."

Pearson, 22, suffered a broken left fibula when he collided heavily with the end boards during Saturday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Jets. In 42 games this season, he has 12 goals and 16 points. Earlier on Saturday the forward was chosen as one of six rookie participants to take part in the All-Star Game’s skills competition on Saturday, January 24 at Columbus’ Nationwide Arena.
