On the team’s performance:
I think we responded the very same as last game, the Hanzal goal this game, and the Tarasenko goal last game. It’s the very same where you’ve got to respond to that during the game.
On the penalty kill not allowing any shots on its final kill:
Well, they’re going to get shots. I think the key to your penalty killing is your goaltender’s got to make a big save somewhere, and you’ve got to get in shooting lanes and you’ve got to try and block shots, and when you get away from that, regardless of the position, then you usually have some trouble.
On Jamie McBain’s two-assist performance in his first game back:
Anybody who’s not playing should stay ready. It’s not about the points. It’s about, again, the performance and the competition part of it.
On the power play’s recent success:
It got better as the game went on. Every game’s different. Everybody kills different.
On Marian Gaborik and Anze Kopitar helping each other get going:
I think they’re getting going. Obviously they’re different types of players, all three of ‘em…they’ve all had their ups and downs this year, and they’re all expected to carry more of an offensive load, and they’re doing it a little bit more now.
On whether there’s anything special about the three-year anniversary of his hiring:
No. I just moved from being a farmer. The days were really short and we needed a little bit more sunlight. The days would get – what is it, the 19th or 20th – when we’d start going the other way. That’s what I remember. We need that, a little more sunlight. A couple more minutes tomorrow.
